Age of Conan was a bit of a disappointment for me. Who knows, the game might be nice and fun actually whenever they get the memory problems and some general quirks squared, but it just would not run on my computer no matter how low I put the settings. On top of the 0,2 second lag I was getting small stutters and the overall FPS was about 15-20 and the game looked like crap.
Well, the game looked like it might look good and people said it looks good if you have the power to run with high settings, but to me it looked like crap on top of running crappy. So based on the little open beta experience I’m not buying the game.
Instead, I bought a brand new top-notch washing machine to my new apartment, thinking this time I won’t make the mistake of getting the cheapest and having it break down on me the next month or something like that. Well, stupidity makes your wallet hurt they say. They might be right about that. I was so into getting the damn machine that I only measured the space that the machine takes, but did not pay attention to the space required to actually get the machine to the space it was supposed to go.
So, now I have a full-sized washing machine on my entrance hallway. Just what the Feng Shui of this place was screaming for… Anyhow, not like I have been around to look at it too much. Long days at the office to get the hang of stuff and do as much of the piled up work before I have to go away for four days next week already. Friggin brainiacs at the Army want me to participate on the reserve training of a local unit that is located 350 km away from my place of residence. And the guy in charge said I am one of the lucky few to get to reserve training. Yeah right, only my fourth time during the last three years I think. Lucky me…

Two days behind on my new job and I feel pretty tired. The work and the colleagues seem to be interesting and nice, but everything didn’t quite start out as it was planned.
The person who was supposed to be mentoring me this week had to get on a sick leave so now I’ve been trying to adapt to the new environment, listen to other busy employees and self-learn new programs on the fly. In a week or two it will be all just a routine I’m sure, but I have to say they have been quite some first few days on a job :)
I finished downloading Age of Conan beta on Sunday, but haven’t had time to try it out at all yet. Maybe if no more surprises come up, next weekend I can relax a little with good night sleeps and some fun gaming…

During the past few weeks I’ve been preparing my move to another city, where I got the job starting at. Now I got the rental contract done, net connection should be working as I get there, and the graduation papers should be on my hand by tomorrow. My final project grade was just 2 out of 5, but since I was aiming for only 3 and I have a job waiting anyway, I’m not going to worry about it. What is more important that the school is finally over for me :)
Now I just need to figure out what furniture to take with me, and most of all, how to take it to my new place…

Been a while again. I got my studies all wrapped up now, just waiting to get the papers and I’m done. I already have a job waiting so would be nice if the teachers could hurry it up :)
Now that I won’t have to worry about that final project anymore, I’ll probably start writing this blog more often as well. Even though the new job isn’t related to games, I still enjoy playing games and try to follow whats happening on the industry. Some time ago I ordered EGM here, since I don’t care so much for the Finnish game magazines, and I have to say I’m satisfied with the price and content now that I have the May issue in my hands…

Not much going on right now. I’m really starting to crunch up my final project report as I hope it will be ready in few weeks.
On a side note, I played my first troll session in LOTRO monster play few days ago. Even though it is expensive and doesn’t seem to have real objectives, I gotta say I had a blast. The rampage-meter and especially the slapping small folks around made my day more than once. Next time I’m gonna try to get some hobbits and see if I can get the troll drunk with their beer :D
